Black Bear … Mass like no other!

  Over the years, Johnson’s has been known for hunters to harvest that heavy black bear. With Covid, the bear population has increased with showing some big boars. With well over 30 stands either tree stands, ground blinds or even box blinds at the hunters’ preference, we are here and willing to accommodate the request to make your hunt a success. Once you fill your bear tag, the animal will be processed at camp and set aside packaged and ready for transport to your choice of taxidermy.

If you fill your tag early in the week, Cold Lake is just a 15-minute drive which offers a few new hunting stores for your convenience. Not to mention the odd antique store that may fancy your eye.

A few considerations when hunting black bear with us…

•  Bow/Crossbow/Muzzleloader and Rifle season for black bear is spring April 15 to June 31.

   For fall season, the date for the same ammunition is September 1 to October 31.

• We can accommodate up to 8 hunters at one time.

•  Johnson’s has it’s regular stands that have been occupied for the last 40 plus years, however,

  with new ownership comes some untouched territory. We are offering the same bear baits along with a whole new territory of land that has never been hunted on.

• Home cooked meals from the moment you arrive at our camp till you leave. You wont be hungry… in fact, you will need to hit the gym!
